With the high volume of crap we breathe, drink and eat on a daily basis, everyone is suffering from an overload of toxins. Some people just don’t know it yet. This is often the result of eating an unhealthy diet. Environment and pollution can also lead to a buildup of harmful debris in your body. This usually impacts the liver and kidneys the most since these organs focus on removing toxins from the body.
When you tend to feel fatigued on a regular basis or find it difficult to lose weight, you may be dealing with a buildup of toxins. Many people turn to juice cleanses to help detox their body. While these solutions work, acupressure does not require you to make any changes to your diet or lifestyle. But, of course with diet improvement, it will certainly be helpful to far improve your health.
Here’s the 4 acupressure points for detoxifying your kidneys and liver. I use these every now and then; usually on a fortnightly basis.
Before applying pressure, you should prepare your body. Take a few deep breaths. Stand up and place your arms over your head. Breathe in and stretch backwards. Exhale as you lean forward while lowering your arms to the floor. This helps to get your blood and oxygen flowing, which may help with the detoxification process.
Drink a large amount of water before you begin these acupressure procedures – the toxins flushed out are finally removed in the form of urine – so you need to have an adequate amount of moisture to allow that to work.
1. Upper Sea of Qi
This first point is located just below the center of your breastbone.
Applying pressure to this point should help clear chest congestion and get qi flowing freely through your lungs.
