Kidney detox: going Raw

The kidney is one of the most important organs in the body’s ‘blood management’ department. It cleans your blood and regulates water levels in the body. It’s main job is removing toxins from the blood stream directly. Keeping this in mind, let’s see why we need to cleanse the kidneys – and what benefits this offers us. We will also look at how this works and share some recipes that promote a good kidney detox.

Toxins are actually a normal part of your bodies intake of food and oxygen. The bowel disposes of toxins from the digestive system and the liver helps clear the way for other organs to function properly and help rid of those unwanted toxins. [1] Your body is actually able to detoxify itself in a natural manner with the use of the kidneys – but over a period of time the kidneys themselves need to be cleaned!
